| 2002 Club Highlights | ||||
In May, 1986, the West Highland White Terrier Club of Greater Atlanta, Inc. was organized.
The idea of forming a Westie club in Georgia became a reality at a local kennel club match
show where the Club's founders met for the first time. Marleen Burford, Linda Carroll, and
Ada Love all had puppies entered that day. They talked about the fun of having a Specialty
club and dog show for Westies.
The first meeting had 14 Westie-lovers attend, and now, membership has grown to over 125. They are from Georgia as well as Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Louisianna, North and South Carolina, and Tennessee. The Atlanta Club serves the fancy in the Southeast through education, friendship and more as well as serves the community.
The Club has IRS non-profit status, is incorporated in the State of Georgia, licensed by the
American Kennel Club, sanctioned by the American Working Terrier Club of America, and recognized
by the West Highland White Terrier Club of America.
