Annual Picnic at Pinckneyville Park

Our annual Westie Club picnic is Sunday, May 17 from noon to 4PM at Pinckneyville Park in Norcross (same location as the past several years).

As usual, the club will provide the meat and all paper goods. This will include plates, cups, plastic utensils, napkins and tablecloths. Please bring either an appetizer, salad, side or dessert to help fill out the rest of the menu. We will also need drinks, ice and coolers.

RSVP to Dee Dee Holmquist with the number in your party, what you plan to bring and if you can help with setup or cleanup.

Also, don’t forget to bring x-pens, water bowls etc. for your Westies and chairs for yourselves. We will be under a pavilion so that will help with the shade.

Michelle Voight is handling this year's rescue parade. If you plan to participate in the rescue parade, please contact Michelle before May 2. She will need owner’s name, how long they have been with the club, their dog’s name, when they adopted their rescue and whatever “story” they would like to tell about the dog’s past and their life now in their “furever” home. Please register with your information and story by May 2 to Michelle.

Don Mallik will be doing the Earth Dog trials again this year. It was lots of fun to see last year!

If anyone has ideas for other activities or any questions, please contact me at the above e-mail or phone (770-205-9660).

Hope you all can make it. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone!

As always, check the newsletter for more information!

Meetings:
Meetings are typically held on the third Sunday afternoons in the months of January, March, May, September, October and November. After a brief business meeting, experts in a variety of dog-related subjects speak to the group. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. Most times our Westies join us. Door prizes and other fun are part of each meeting, too.

Guests are always welcome!

Directions to ADOG (formerly Dogwood Academy) Training Facility:
Take I-285 to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, (It is on the northeast side
of the I-285 perimeter, just west of I-85). Go South on PIB toward Atlanta for about one mile; turn right onto Green Industrial Way (next to an Acura car dealership on right hand side). ADOG is at the end of the street in the turnaround.

Meeting Times:
Typically Board Meetings begin at 1:00 pm with the General Meeting beginning at 2:00 p.m. and end around 4:00 p.m.

What to bring: Chair for humans in your party and a leash or a crate or
x-pen (with a mat underneath) for your Westie friend. Also please bring materials to clean up after your friend and any dog treats or water that
you believe they will need.
