2007 show table

Our Annual West Highland White Terrier Specialty Show in Perry Georgia is on Sunday, April 13th at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter in Perry, Georgia with the Combined Specialty Clubs of Georgia.

The grooming area will be in the Sheep Barn. This year the show will be in the late morning (exact time of showing has not been posted, but will be added to the Website as soon as it is available) with hospitality during.

The Judges are: Regular Specialty Classes: Fred Bassett
Puppy Sweepstakes: Darlene Cox Davis, Breeder/Owner of Ridgmar Westies

Sunday is not the only day that the Westies will be strutting their stuff. The Conformation shows begin on Thursday and continue Friday and Saturday leading up to our Specialty on Sunday. We will post the times Westies will show on these days as well. In addition, there are performance events; Agility, Rally and Obedience Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Conformation judges for the week include:
Thursday, April 10 - Peggy Haas
Friday, April 11 - Lydia Coleman Hutchinson
Saturday, April 12 - Robert Black

Exhibitor note: All shows Close Wednesday, March 26, 2008!!!

But the attractions don’t stop there. There are flyball competitions that must be seen to believe. Dogs actually cheer each other on! Then the shopping is the best you can find for your canine friends.

On Friday night we host a hospitality get together in the lobby of the Comfort Inn for all exhibitors, Members and all Westie friends. On Saturday we will have a dinner with Buffet Stations at the New Perry Inn, an historical landmark in Perry. Send in your reservations soon! Reservation Form

The typical number of Westies involved in the Specialty competitions is triple from normal shows in our area so it is a great opportunity to see our breed standard in action. It is also a great time to meet Westie lovers from all over the country as breeders from as far away as California have attended.

Members should know that agility pre-entries are being taken until 02/28/08. There will be a random draw for run slots prior to the official closing. They can only accommodate 900 runs per day and they always run out of slots. If there are slots available after the pre-entry draw, they will be allotted on a first come first served basis until the officiall closing date. More information and entry forms on www.atlantakennelclub.org website.

Finally we are always looking for assistance in setting up and cleaning up after the show and events. So if you think you will be attending let Dana know how you can help.
