DESTINY'S DOZEN

dozen A dozen westies of various ages with Scabies requiring immediate medical treatment & isolation, some with more serious physical & emotional conditions - abscessed teeth, heart conditions, extreme shyness - were abandoned to our rescue committee.

This was the biggest challenge the rescue committee of our breed club had ever taken on.

Our wonderful breed club vet took these 12 dogs in, placed them in isolation for weeks, treated the scabies with medication and baths, and then treated their other physical problems.

Once all medical treatments were completed, our club mobilized a grooming day as part of a weekend of scheduled adoptions. On that weekend, 11 of the 12 were adopted.

We are extremely thankful for the support we received from the National Rescue Committee and National Club Board of Directors in dealing with this crisis.

Here are some pictures of Destiny's Dozen, when they were abandoned and isolated at the vets, and then after their treatments and grooming day.
