Jake

Like other Westies that come into our rescue program, Jake was surrendered because he became extremely jealous and aggressive toward his 10 month old (human) sister. However, don’t be fooled Jake is no ordinary Westie!!

Jake is a wonderful companion, very affectionate and loves attention. However, he is also content curling up next to you for a nap or playing alone with his toys. He likes to play chase or keep away and when playing, he can get silly and feisty - all in good fun, of course. At 8, this senior Westie sure has a lot of energy.

Jake’s wonderful personality landed him a spot on Easy Street!! He has become very attached to his new forever family and likewise, them of him. He has an older sister, Kate, who attends Georgia Tech so luckily for him he gets to see her quite a bit.

Jake spends part of his time in Hilton Head where his days are consumed by watching wildlife - although he is better, Jake is still trying to figure out what is going on with the water (a.k.a. the Ocean) and at one point he tried tasting the sound water - his body language certainly expressed his dislike.

The other half of his life is spent here in Atlanta. When he’s not enjoying the lazy days of summer, he hikes with his dad, Jim. Just recently he successfully conquered a local peak, Kennesaw Mountain. Jakster led the way up the Mountain. At the end, he didn’t break stride - finishing strong all the way up the stairs to the car. This was a big surprise, as Jake has had trouble with stairs up until this point. Needless to say, this was a proud moment for both Jim and Jake! Jim, Shea and Kate have opened their hearts and their home for Jake, truly making him a part of their family.

Congratulations, Mr. Jake, on your new family!!!!
