Maxwell

Maxwell On February 16th 2004, I left my home of 5 years and was told I was going on a trip to Atlanta to visit my new foster parents. I like an adventure so although sad to leave, was quite looking forward to somewhere new. I'd never been to the city before, how very exciting! The fast cars, noisy fire engines and big buildings all looked very different to the back yard I had been used to but it looked like fun and at least that pesky cat wouldn't be there.

I realized just how much fun I was going to have when I saw exactly where I'd be living - next door to the Original Krispy Kreme Doughnut House!!! However, it soon became clear that although my new home was going to be a lot of fun and I was going to get ALL the attention, doughnuts were not on the menu for dinner.

My new family were going to take care of me until I got better. I don't know why but I was very itchy and couldn't stop scratching myself bald in some places so they were going to try some new things with me until it got better. I liked the sound of this and hoped again that the yummy smelling doughnuts from next door were going to be a part of my diet.

As each day passed, I could hear my foster family talking to prospective new homes about how much fun I was, how cute I could be and how endearing my westie qualities were. I can run and run and run after my tennis ball far longer than my foster parents can, and it seems to amuse them when they use me as a goal keeper but just can't get the ball past me. Sleeping on my back with my legs in the air whilst making strange dreamy noises also seemed to entertain them so given the opportunity to do this all the more I continued to do so.

I tried really hard to eat all my new diet food and take my medication like a good boy in the hope that they would find me a home just as fun. It worked!!!! I've got a new home in the city and still have those cheeky squirrels to chase. I even have a full body of hair now and look very smart indeed.
